Guest guest
I'm going for a synacthen test on Thursday to check my adrenal glands, after a 24-hour salivary test indicated 'erratic' cortisol production (as the lab technician put it): high at midnight, low and up and down during the day. I just thought I'd ask whether othes had taken this test and if there's anything I should ask or bear in mind. Thanks to Sheila for suggesting I get on to the endocrinologist's secretary while waiting for my first appointment: she did seem to appreciate a patient's initiative, and arranged this test for me as a result, so the endo will have more evidence in front of him when I get my consultation. Guest guest
> > I will be interested in your results as I got saliva results 'erratic, and overall low cortisol output'. I too had one high reading which was the midnight one, the rest below normal or baseline. It might be as well to ask them to give you the lower dose stim, as I hear the full dose would, as Shiela cutely puts it, 'make a dead donkey kick' . Anyway please do let us know the results lotsa luv Dawnx
