Guest guest
HI All.......HOw about themDiamondbacks!!!!!!Great game for AZ and this former upstate Nyer who used to listen to World Series with MickeyMantle ....wow , it was great.......now on to game 2 here today..... I am going into surgery tomorrow am at 830 ....the Sp Proceduresm DR pulled the drain on Fri...it had slowed way down to barely dumping 30cc (this is good)and I am still on mega dose of KFLEX.....Tomorrow the surgeon is going to remove all the mesh and depending on how big the hole is decide whether to stitich it or leave it open in there(he thinks hole is only 2 in around.... Then I get to wear the binder and take it easy for 3-12 months and eventually have the mesh put in again for support .....but has to give area time to " cool " off and not have any more problems. He thinks that there was some minor colonization from last surgery that has remained and that's why the problems. Any way, I will be in overnight and possibly get a pic line before they let me go on Tuesday. BUt because the area has been greatly reduced in size drainage might actually be normal this time and get rid of tubes earlier ........just have to wait and see. My Dad has told me he has had to have 2 of his mesh spots redone thru the yrs...I wonder why he waits to tell me these things.....He always seems to understand what I have been through........but I would have preferred to be forewarned .Anyway , I think my heredity thing plays a big thing in here ......he has had 11 hernias and surgeries thru last 40 yrs........I think my mistake was when they did my 1st emergency Csect vertically (from navel to pubis bone in 1981..)..weakened the abd wall......... Anyway, I have felt great most of yesterday and up early this morning...havent slept great but I have slept.......and a, those probiotics have been wonderful....thank you thank you.........so nice to feel better in that respect.........I need to go and get some things done here this morning...........thanks again..Judy in AZ

Guest guest
I'm glad it's over Kathy. I'm a pro at getting down steps after surgery. Sit on your butt and scoot down! I've scooted down many steps, and went up on all 4's on many occasions. Safety is my first concern, so I don't care what I look like Hope your recovery is quick. a Re: [ ] Re:Surgery well i made it. still kinda groggy but wanted to let you know he showed this time!!! i heard the anesthesiologist say it was the worst tarsal tunnel she had seen in awhile. this boot is not made for this surgery!!! those metal braces going right on the scar. ow!!! no energy to push in my chair. or crutch around. my other leg was kinda like spaghetti. i know it will get better, but concerned on getting down the steps and to the dr's office on tuesday. kathy in il
Guest guest
Hi Kathy glad your surgery is behind you and you can concentrate on getting your strength back. As far as stairs are concerned, I usually bum my way up and down. We have 5 steps at the front of the house (which were wet on Friday) so Don brought out a steno chair and wheeled me to the side door, a few short hops and bummed my way up 4 stairs, then Don boosted me from behind. Not a pretty sight lol but it works. Hugs June

Guest guest
Tess, I am sending prayers for you right now. If the tonsils are that bothersome, then it is time to say Bye Bye. My doctors have not said anything about coming off the Remicade (if I ever get it) either for surgery due to the pre op and post op antibiotics that they will be giving me. Unfortunately, it will be a rough couple of weeks for you but I am sure that they will keep you pretty well medicated. Remember, that the mind doesn't remember pain. You will know that you had the pain, but not remember what it actually felt like. Please let us know when the surgery is so that we can all light our candles for you for successful surgery and a speedy recovery. Guest guest
Dear Tess. My prayers are with you that you have a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. Love, Carol in FL [ ] Surgery Hi Friends...my way too huge tonsils are infected yet again. Both my ENT and Respiratory Therapist believe a tonsillectomy & uppp surgery will greatly help me in several ways. Both my rheummy and ENT do not think it necessary for me to go off Remicade prior to surgery, as prophalactic antibiotics will be used. This sort of surprises me from what I've read about Remicade, but I do believe I have great doctors. Any thoughts? I should find out the surgery date next week. The ENT said he will admit me the day prior to surgery to be monitored by the Respiratory Pulmonologist and a couple days after as well. He said to be prepared for two rough weeks, then another two further recuperating. I'm scared, but more than that I do so much want to improve my health. Prayers wanted! Love to all... Guest guest
Hi Tess, It sounds as though you are balancing things as well as can be expected. It is probably best to get the surgery over with as soon as possible, less anxiety and apprehension. Be sure to let us know the exact date so that we can light our candles for you. Have you made any decisions about the gastric bypass surgery yet? I pick up my phone to make the call to the surgeon and then I put in back down again as quickly. It is still a very big indecisive step for me yet. Not whether I need it or not, but just the severity of it. I used to work with many, many people who had had the surgery all with very impressive results but as you said, the support system after surgery was well established and I feel aided in their success. Try to have a good weekend and get yourself a new nightie so you feel better after your surgery! Nothing picks up a girls spirits like a nice piece of lingerie!!!!!! Guest guest
Sorry you are frightened, Tess. I don't blame you. If you think your physicians are quite competent, I see no reason to worry about their belief that you can stay on Remicade through the surgeries. Ask all the questions you want so that you'll feel more comfortable about the procedures, but, at some point, you should be able to trust their judgement and leave it in their hands. I'm sure that they don't want anything to happen to you either. I'm praying for you! Let us know when you get your date. > Hi Friends...my way too huge tonsils are infected yet again. Guest guest
Thank you, dear . The ENT's office said today they expect to give me a date sometime next week. I am feeling more trusting, the more I learn about all this. Thank you for your sweet caring. Hugs of Hope... Tess
