You know I was just thinking about this. I mostly lurk, although I

have been known to give an opinion or two here and there.

I belong to dozens of list and I have to say this is the most " high

maintenance " I've been on. What I mean by this is that I am not sure

that folks live by the adage " If I won't say it to them face to face

....NOT VIA EMAIL I REALLY MEAN FACE TO FACE... than I shouldn't say

it at all " . I know, even I, have a certain amount of anonymity and

freedom with email and tend to sort of let it all hang out, if you

know what I mean. It takes more control, consideration and courtesy

when you are in these list because or inhibitions seem to be lessened

somewhat. That being said, not all of us control those inhibitions.

I know my view about this isn't a view that is embraced by all, but I

would bet some.

I use the delete key a lot. So why do I stay? Maybe because

sometimes I just like being the fly on the wall. Do I like to admit

that there are, shall I say, " passionate " individuals out there?

Yes, and some of those passionate people are quite " com " passionate as

well, others are not. I keep hoping that the times of riot are in

the vein of humor and not in rebellion and criticism. I stay because

I am a little person and that is my connection to all of you. I also

stay to maybe help a person or two. It is not always " all about me " ,

it is more about relationships, and being just plain... helpful, when

I can. Personalities aside, I guess we all want to belong, have

purpose and relate. I choose to relate without conflict, personal

criticism or drama.

In the microcosm of this list, tensions very often run high. I guess

that is what people see (particularly new folks) and most people do

not embrace tension, they avoid it. Being a little person can be

hard, reaching out can make one feel quite vulnerable. If I was in a

state of vulnerability I don't know if I would feel safe here when

the riots begin.

I guess I wrote this email to maybe get people to reflect upon what

they write before they hit that " send " key. Maybe, too, it's because

I find myself sighing and realizing that I hope that someone new, who

really needs to be able to read a while before they speak, might be

frightened off.

Thanks for posting this.

People can get out of control. I was on a list for journalists (back in my

" active " newspaper days) where things got heated and a member said another

was probably dealing in a criminal activity and suggested that he might go

to the person's house with the police to prove it. It was obviously a

statement made in a fit of anger with no basis. He just wanted to get the

guy mad and make the point that he didn't think much of the guy's opinions

and the guy in general. But the result was the accused hit the accuser

with a lawsuit. And the journalist who made the statement was a respected

journalist !!

Most of our list members simply have no idea of the laws and consequences

of their actions. They just react and expect others to react back with

words only.

I forgot to mention Dr. Blaylock's book entitled " Excitoxins: The

Taste that Kills "

That should be on everyone's list of reading. When you read it, you will

see why. He's a neurosurgeon, just recently retired from doing surgery, is a

visiting professor to many universities and is on various organizations, is

pushing for health freedom for everyone. He's basically a " jewel. "

That's his main website. Click under " links " and look for the Health

Freedom Foundation. See, a lot of doctors want this.
