Guest guest
Hi Sheila, Just in case you're still around, thought I'd send a quickie to let you know briefly what happened at the doctors. I got a print out but there where no ref ranges, so need to go back for those. I can post them then when I get my private tests back. Basically, there is still nothing wrong with me but FMS, TSH is mid range, my ferritin (93) and B12 are OK, ESR raised slightly at 22, my white blood cells are slightly high and something about lymphocytes in relation to that. He wants me to do the ESR and a full blood count again in 2 weeks, and he's asked for an antibody screen. He said you can have antibodies but it doesn't mean you are hypothyroid???? This might sound daft but in a way I'm a bit relieved about the tsh result because I'm very happy to continue seeing Dr Peatfield. I need to get some health back so I can fight the NHS properly! The reason I went to the doctors last week was because symptoms I already have, tingling in hands, feet and head, tinnitus, got very intense, racing heart which I'm used to (always somewhere between 90- 120) was thudding much stronger, stomach/bowel problems worse, and then I saw my pallor was yellowy, and was short of breath(something new) Googled yellow pallor+hypothyroid and what came up but pernicious anaemia, and after reading info from different sites thought it was a real possiblilty especially because of the pallor and if I could get a diagnosis for this, I might be able to link it in to my thyroid problems and get them to look at things differently. But no my B12 is ok. I still have the yellowy pallor and a waxy look and the doctor doesn't have an explanation for it. I've always been pale so this is strange. At different times, my daughter says I have a dead look about me and says I look like I've wiped a wet tea bag around my face!! Gill S > Hi Gill > > I would stick with Dr Peatfield as Dr Skinner is not too happy to deal with any adrenal issues and I am not sure he understands them as well as Dr Peatfield and other doctors. Don't worry yourself about what to say to your GP - just ask him to write down your results for each test and the reference range and we can take ift from there. If he DOES tell you they are a little out of range (or they might be a lot), then you can ask for a referral - though if you continue to see Dr Peatfield, he doesn't require a referral. You can come up to my cottage for a consultation if you wish, but iCastle Donnington is a lot nearer to you and I am sure that Jo will work out all the other clinic dates soon. > > Luv - Sheila
