Guest guest
Hi I do a lot of work with nutritional balancing and hi-tech supplementation for cancer. I am also a colon cancer survivor of 6 years doing alternative medicine (I did have the tumor out and one month of chemo—just couldn’t do the chemo—too many side effects). I want to offer encouragement for you and any others that are dealing with any type of cancer. I thoroughly understand taking all the supplements, exercising, stress reduction, very healthy diet, etc. It can get somewhat overwhelming, but you need to hand in there and keep fighting. It’s a war, but the good news is that it is a very winnable war! Some things to ask your ND about: Detoxification: Digestive tract/liver/gallbladder/parasite/heavy metal cleansing (these need to be done every 3-6 months) Absolutely no sugar and no artificial sugar of any kind Diet (very healthy and organic is a must—spring and summer are my most favorite times as the fruits and vegetables are so good and the choices are many) Emotional stress relief Pancreatic Enzymes along with plant-based enzymes (therapeutic doses are important) Sunshine every day (at least 30 minutes before 10:00 a.m. or after 3:00 p.m.) on as much of the body as is legal Pure, clean water (drink half of your body weight in ounces every day—you are probably already doing this with all your supplements) I do a combination type of diet with my clients as it takes away a lot of work from the digestive tract so the body can use this energy for healing Hi-tech supplementation with supplements that have no fillers, binders or excipients Chiropractic Lymphatic drainage techniques (skin brushing, mini-tramp) Natural hormone supplementation Make sure all of the elimination routes are working. Women have five elimination routes (breathing, sweating, urination, defecation, menses) Exercise will usually take care of three—breathing, sweating and defecation. Drinking water will help with urination. That’s a good start and hopefully you are already doing most or all of this. I know the above is not iodine or thyroid specific and I apologize for getting a little off-topic, but if you want the body to balance you must deal with all areas. In my practice, I place a lot of emphasis on detoxification—both the body and toxic emotions. As you know, the liver is the main filter of the body and it must be kept clean. There are no magic bullets even with Lugols or Armour, etc. Getting the body healthy and balanced is important along with what I mentioned above. I I want to encourage you, , to keep on keeping on. If I can do it, absolutely anyone can do it!! Obviously you are doing something right as you are still going strong after 6 years. Take Care & Be Well, Loretta Well when I posted that I thought my Tg (cancer marker) was falling but yesterday I did a comparative chart of all my thyroid numbers. TSH stimulates the Tg and that is why you need to stay supressed. In Januray my TSH had risen to 1.15 which is 1 full point above what I should be at. My Tg went from 8 in August to 22 in January. My last round of RAI was May '05. My last check of Tg put me at 23 with a lower TSH of .21 which is not good since I was lower TSH but still high Tg. I am a bit down about all this. I had another blood draw on Tuesday last week where we were checking Tg again. I was dx'd with Papillary Thyroid cancer 6 years ago. Dr. Brownstein seems to feel that the high doses of iodine will " kill " the cancer cells. I pray this is true. I am so tired of popping 25+ pills a day, eating organic, being gluten free and exercising 5 days a week and still seeing these numbers increase. I keep wondering what it is that I am missing. *sigh* I was now Dx'd with Insulin Resistance and a Liver / Pancreas conversion issue. I am trying to wean off sugar today (not that I eat a ton) because I know my ND's plan will be no grains or sugar to try to correct it. Sorry to be a downer today but I am not feeling very optomistic.
Guest guest
Hi Dr. Loretta, that's interesting. Do you also use the "cancer fighting duo" I was reading about in MDs newsletter 4/06 vitamin C:K3 combination called ProsStay? Have you found enough vitamin D useful for colon cancer?
