Guest guest
" Oh yes does this group have a good sleep aid that one can use. I have tried Sonata and Valerian they usually work however I feel like sh$t the next morning. Bob " I have used GABA - started with 100-200 increase to 500mg if necessary. It worked for me . I do not take it every night but can take for many nights in a row if necessary, then take a break. It seems that anything I take - Valerian, Skullcap, Hops, etc. - I develop a tolerance to it. I do not have a chronic problem with sleep, so taking a break is not a problem for me. Good luck, M- -----

I also take a mildly sedating antidepressant before bedtime, to help the process along. Have you tried any of these? -- el - andrea@... Guest guest
Hi All I have started taking Rescue Remedy Sleep. 4 drops on the toungue about half an hour before bed. It seems to be quite good so far. I have been managing to sleep right through the night and don't wake up feeling woozy. I have used Rescue Remedy drops for years - my brother bought me a whole set - and I used to make up my own concoctions. They are useful to have as a back up for difficult moments. Guest guest
Me too ! I'm a big fan of Bach remedies. I found it very helpful earlier this year before, when I was having bad night anxiety, which had lasted for more than a year, but didn't want to try sleeping tabs. I have to say since I started NAE about six or seven weeks ago, my sleep has improved greatly and night anxiety virtually disappeared. But I'll hang on the RRSleep just in case. Sleep well. x > > Hi All > > I have started taking Rescue Remedy Sleep. 4 drops on the toungue > >
Guest guest
Hi I have had bad bouts of anxiety and panic attacks most of my adult life. The last bad attack was after my then partner died of a heart attack on my kitchen floor. I spent the next three years in a state of extreme anxiety and I had panic attacks everywhere. I even used to wake up having a panic attack. I became scared of doing anything active incase I too had an heart attack. I had pains in my chest, couldn't get a full breath. The fear has abated somewhat but it still lurks in the back of my mind. When I saw Dr P and told him about my health history he said it was no wonder I felt ill. The Nutri Adrenal has helped enormously - I take 6 - and now the Armour is making me feel less stressed - I am up to 1 grain. I still get bouts of depression so I take St. 's Wort which helps. I also have Rescue Remedy drops in my bottled water for times when I think I may be in a stressful situation. My mother was a very anxious person and so is my brother - they both had panic attacks - and my brother is going to the doctor next week and hopefully be diagnosed as being HypoT. It may be that someone in your family was anxious when you were young - children can pick up on a lot of adult emotions. I would help to find out if any relatives were of an anxious disposition or had panic attacks. I think I will never be free of anxiety and stress but I think it helps accepting that it is part of my life and making allowances for my sensitivity. Now that I know it is part of my condition, I treat myself gently and try avoid stressful people and situations. Putting myself first sometimes also helps. If you have been ill for a long time, it can take a long time to get better. You are in the right place for advice and support so treat yourself gently, take care of yourself and don't try to rush your recovery. Guest guest
Hi My anxiety has never controlled my life and I wont let, but at times it has been hard. I used to and still do to some degree worry about taking new meds and then when I have taken them I get even more anxious because I know I have taken them and cant get them back again!! This has not always been the case and I have had many yrs being anxiety free but that was thanks to seroxat. I think I worry over side effects, I am waiting to start HC and I know my body needs its, I know it wont hurt me but I wish I could convince my brain! Nobody in my family ever showed to have anxiety/depression related illnesses and I wasnt bought up in a high anxiety situation, if it was present then I didnt sense it. I think with anxiety the brain plays tricks on us and we have to remember that anxiety never killed anyone and to face it and not be scared of it. Good luck From: frances.sacramento <frances.sacramento@...>Subject: Re: Sleep Aidthyroid treatment Date: Sunday, 17 August, 2008, 12:42 PM Hi I have had bad bouts of anxiety and panic attacks most of my adult life. Guest guest
I like tryptophan and melatonin together or separately about an hour before sleep. If I am completely wigged out I occasionally take a benadryl. Then I really sleep, but am told I snore then. I think I would rather have the wine at dinner. Ann Goldeen ---- " Dr. Glenn Sykes " <drsykes@...> wrote: > I would not recommend this to all patients but I have found a big glass of red wine helps me sleep. There might even be some health benefits from the wine. Aside from the obvious risks with people who have a problem with alcohol, the side effects for many people may be less than OTC or Rx sleep aids?! > > > > Glenn Sykes, DC > Gresham Town Fair Chiropractic > > > > From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Abrahamson > Sent: Wednesday, May 26, 2010 10:58 AM > Charlie Caughlin; > Subject: Re: Sleep aid > > > > > > Thanks Charlie, > I thought that in Day, you just counted the cows walking past the bedroom window until you fell asleep! > > E.
