Guest guest
i just finished my first cleanse.. i have had two gall bladder attacks and ultrasounds show gallstones each time. I did the epsom salt, apple juice, lemon juice and olive oil one. Oh my.. the olive oil was the worst part. I passed a few pea size stones, but many, many tiny ones. All day yesterday, this was happening. Surgeon recommended surgery, imagine that Am going to see my Primary Care doc to talk to her about the cleanse, symptoms and surgery. I recently read an article from Mayo clinic, saying that people that do these cleanses.. may be seeing what they think are gallstones, but are really remnants of the oil and food particles ( not gallstones). But then when i look at pictures of the gall stones, mine looked like that. I realize that i will need to flush more than a few times to " cleanse " my gall bladder and liver.. Just wanted to post my experience and ask for any ideas about the article i read that said not gallstones, just oil and food residue! i have found this forum very helpful
Guest guest
Of course, your surgeon recommended surgery. That's how s/he makes money. They don't care about how the remainder of your life will be without your GB. As far as whether we are passing stones or residue of the oil, etc. from the flush, I've wondered that same thing myself. My " stones " have looked like the pictures I've seen also. However, my doctor said they were not stones and he didn't know what they were. I know that many, many people have many stones and are never bothered by them. I've only had that one major attack (in ER and hospital, surgery recommended, I refused) and I still have my GB and have never had another problem. So my thought is, I don't care whether they are stones or not, if I never have another problem. Guest guest
I had saved some of the stones in a baggie in the freezer. I took the bag to my N.D. and she confirmed that they were indeed gall stones. I had forgotten to mention that when I wrote. Guest guest
After my first and only GB attack, I studied and did 3 flushes. I started passing stones and passed from 1 to 4 every day for about a year!! Then it slowed down and I only passed some a few times a week. I haven't passed any for several months now. However, I've had 2 sonograms which still show that I have stones. I must be loaded. After doing 3 flushes, my N.D. told me to stop doing them and let my GB rest for awhile. I'm having an appointment with her this Thursday and will ask if I should do another one. Amber Well that sounds like proof to me that at least the cleanse gets rid of " some " for sure. Guest guest
From what I have researched, when a person has gallstones and only occasionally gets a colic attack they are described as 'asymptomatic gallstones'. Not many surgeons that I have spoken to or read about recommend the need for the gallbladder to be removed in such circumstances, but suggest that the issue is controlled with diet etc. Even a person who is diagnosed with 'acute cholecystitis', which normally means a gallbladder packed with stones may not need surgery. The next stage of gallbladder disease is the chronic stage, when most if not all surgeons will recommend removal of the gallbladder to alleviate serious symptoms which could lead to a gangrenous gallbladder, pancreatitis, blocked ducts in in a small percentage of patients, cancer of the gallbladder. As an aside, has anybody tried the 'contact dissolution' method of stone removal which involves a spaghetti sized catheter being inserted under local anesthetic into the gallbladder and a powerful solution pumped in which dissolves the stones in 99% of cases completely. You go home the same day and your gallbladder remains intact? I have asked this before but have had no answers. I understand that the Mayo Clinic is pioneering this treatment and has been for at least fifteen years. Guest guest
Let me make a suggestion that you may not know about. Reflexology is a great tool in helping you move out the stones. You can go to a person who does this or follow a chart that gives the location of the GB points. Here is a chart I really do like and pass on to people who need a good reflexology chart. Of course you have to use it on line but it is fun. See it here. http://www.dorlingkindersley-uk.co.uk/static/cs/uk/11/features/reflexolo\ gy/footchart.html <http://www.dorlingkindersley-uk.co.uk/static/cs/uk/11/features/reflexol\ ogy/footchart.html> And here is something else I found on doing GB cleanses. http://www.gallbladderattack.com/gallbladderdiet.shtml#beetrecipe <http://www.gallbladderattack.com/gallbladderdiet.shtml#beetrecipe> That chart is easy to read and follow. I know when I was having major problems many years ago, I had my foot points worked and she worked all the way up the leg to the GB and that stimulates the stones to really come out when you do the flush. Try it because it works. > > After my first and only GB attack, I studied and did 3 flushes. I started > passing stones and passed from 1 to 4 every day for about a year!! Guest guest
I'm sorry, but an ND confirming that the stones are indeed gall stones doesn't mean much. Without any real testing, it is just someone who probably already supports this therapy continuing to support the therapy. greg n gallstones , First Last <luckninetyone@...> wrote: > > > Well that sounds like proof to me that at least the cleanse gets rid of " some " for sure. > > > gallstones@...: amber@...: Tue, 15 Jan 2008 19:11:21 -0600Subject: Re: cleanse > > > > > I had saved some of the stones in a baggie in the freezer. Guest guest
I've seen pictures of various looking gallstones in various colors on several different on-line sites, and mine looked just like some shown there. I never passed anything like that before doing the flushes. Stands to reason to me that they were gallstones. Amber I'm sorry, but an ND confirming that the stones are indeed gall stones doesn't mean much. Guest guest
Thanks a lot for sharing this very useful information. Also when I have attack like symptoms, I take 2-3 tsp of Aloe-Vera Juice, It really helped to ease the pain quickly and feel better. And for the Beet Juices, I looks very similar to the composition of A-F beta food supplements as mentioned earlier in this post. Thanks a lot again ! Guest guest
Next time ask them if you can use the sugar free Gatorade, G2. It might work out better for you. Guest guest
I'm well aware of that, LOL. The Gatorade that I used had 14 carbs for 8 oz., a total of about 100 in a 5-hour period. It's a wonder my BG didn't go higher than 147, but then that was all I was consuming. But if there is a sugar-free Gatorade, surely the carbs would be somewhat reduced. Guest guest
OKD, That is so terrible. I was knocked out and never knew what happened. They even had to remove a polyp and I had no ill effects. I would recommend having them knock you totally out in the future. So sorry you had to go through that! > > Ugh, I am not sure what is worse about a colonoscopy: that god awful gray gallon of liquid you have to drink, the terrible " runs " afterwards or the actual procedure. > > I got versed during the procedure, which is conscientious sedation, you are not supposed to know what hit you, but I " woke up " , and felt the pain, when the GI doc went too high up into my colon. She couldnt remove one polyp that was way up into my colon and said she would have to take me to the OR to do it. I havent been back since, because it was so unpleasant. > > OKD >
