As in any group, there are a wide variety of experiences, backgrounds, ages, genders, marital statuses (or is that stati?), and so on. After over 40 years of working in libraries working with " dumb freshmen " , " stuffy know it all professors " , " smelly street people " , and so forth (and I dealt with all three of those types already today), I think I'm pretty OK with usually saying and doing " the right thing " . NOTE: The above doesn't mean that I won't ever " lay down the law " or " tell a bandster something s/he doesn't want to hear " , and so forth. Lots of what lots of us hear on here, from our doctors, and elsewhere is stuff we don't want to hear. If we'd heard it in the past and had dealt with it, we probably wouldn't be here. For the most part we're still responsible for what we put in our mouths now that we're adults, banded or not. And that's a first class bitch...since the band isn't a magic solution.
