Terri, didn't our paypal payments cover this? I really am not overly

impressed with paypal and will be getting out of it when all of my

clay shipments have been made-they hit me with lots of charges and I

am not so sure what my own money hungry business bank account is

doing with this new adventure either. they hit me up with 20 cents

per deposit now. Can't understand the concept of charging to deposit

money

iNto your account(scrathing my head)

Helen, I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you guys. just a thought, has anyone mentioned anythin about hospice care. These guys can work wonders, and make the patient so comfortable and a big support for the family, and they help out finacially as well.

We had Hospice for dad, but he was on it for three days, at home, but, man, they were great. Needless to say, i worked with Hospice for two years.

Well, friend, you hang tight, and know that I care. marsha

Helen,

I'm sorry that you are having to go thru this. I have to agree

with Marsha about using Hospice. Check with their ins co b/c

some ins plans will cover this.

And after reading this she's definitely in the end stages of the

dementia now as well as the end stages of whatever her illness

is (sorry my memory is so short).

Hang in there and please remember that I'm here if you need

anything at all.

Take care,

=====

Thank-You Anne !!! I will Gladly accept the Sunny days again when they come !!! And I always like Hugs :o)

MIL was doing pretty good today :o) She knew who we were... Her mind still wanders a lot, but we think she is doing a Lot better than she was... They have something on her legs now to help with circulation, to help prevent blood clots... She has been in the hospital now for three weeks :o( They have held off sending her to the nursing home as she was so unstable... If she stays like she was today, they will transfer her this week... She actually ate a few bites of food :o) First food she has had in over a week and a half... The Dr's. just don't know what they are dealing with :o( It is so strange :o( But the dialantin they started to give her to stop the seizures, her brain was having, has help tremendously !!! Her body still shakes, but she is not rattling the bed anymore...

How are you doing ??? Take care

Helen if your MIL requires Hospice, the doctor and hospital will arrange this I think, it can only be given to Hospice, if the life expectancy is 6 months or less and no further medication is being given to the patient, the organization is wonderful and they are compassionate people. The patient must have another caregiver as Hospice is not there 24-7, except at the end, the thing for them is to keep a pain free person. Thus no medicaton beyond that. Anne

Hi Sheila and everyone,

Just an update on where I am again. Last time I posted I'd stopped

taking Armour and NAE for a bit to do some more tests with NP Tech, but

in the end did not do them as I was really dithering and unsure about

taking HC, my possible adrenal, thyroid problem etc.

In the end I made an appointment (2 hours) with Dr McDonogh at the

Eagle Clinic in Horsham. Anyone else seen him?

He was very nice and thorough and understanding - also had Dr P's book

on the table in the waiting area. He did a (I think it was Vega) test

for allergies etc and also a Live Blood analysis.

As a recent retest for ferritin at my GP's showed only an increase to

18 from 9 in the last 6 months he changed the iron supplement I had

been taking. He arranged for me to do a thyroid test, adrenal test and

mineral test all of which I think are through NPTech and said he would

post the results and his recommendations as and when they returned

which he did.

By the time I saw him I had not taken Armour and NAE (was on 6) for

nearly 3 weeks. I was feeling ok but the following week I started

feeling really crap.

The results of my thyroid test came first and were as follows:

Free T3 4.0 (3.0 to 6.2)

free T4 13.3 (12.0 to 22.0)

TSH 1.7 (0.4 4.0)

He recommended that I did not restart Armour.

My mineral test showed deficiencies in Calcium and Magnesium.

My adrenal test was the biggy. Despite being on adrenal support for

the last 16 months the results were too high cortisol and too low

DHEA. He recommended that I did not restart the NAE but take 1000 mg

of Vit C and start 7-Keto DHEA.

I have been following his recommendations for 2 weeks now (I know it's

only a short amount of time) but am still feeling pretty awful. I am

due to increase the DHEA tomorrow.

He wants me to see him again in 3 months.

Hi Ali (and everybody) - just a reminder first to PLEASE not mention a doctors name on this forum. Just use their initial and if you want me to know the name of a specific doctor because they are very good or very bad, then please write to me personally at sheilaturner@...

I have heard of this particular doctor and he and Dr P know each other well. As you say, it is early days, but one thing you should never forget, even though a doctor says he needs to see you again in 3 months time, he is there at the end of the telephone, so if you need to speak to him and update him on your progress, you should do that. You could increase your Vitamin C by another 1000mgs which would help, as adrenal problems benefit greatly from Vitamin C. What did he recommend for your low calcium and magnesium. You probably also need these supplementing too. When does he want you to restart your Armour? Also, what iron supplement did he recommend?

Luv - Sheila
