Guest guest
I had it done...I was told not to eat after 12 pm the night before....It doesnt hurt at all......you lay down on a bed thing and your in a machine thing doesnt cover your head or anything...just your gallbladder area.....they inject you with some stuff which also does not hurt.... I was very afraid b/c I cant be alone but they stay in the room with you the whole time also and you see the screen but theres nothing really you can tell I got my results right away b/c my wasnt functioning at all usually you wait 3 days but sometimes they will tell you right away. If it does function they also give you another like 30 min test I cant really tell you about that b/c i didnt get that far admilby@... wrote: I am scheduled for tomorrow at 10:00. What should i expect? Does it hurt? My hubby is going to what should he look for on the screen? How soon will i get the results? Also I'm suposed to eat a fatty meal. Haven't ate a fatty meal in 3 weeks. Do you think if i just ate toast and peanut butter that would be fine? I do not want another GB attack. But I do want them to get a accurate reading... thanks for your help... Angie --------------------------------- Never miss a thing. Make your homepage. Guest guest
Thank you Arlene, soooo much! So do you still have your GB? What were your choices? If it's not functioning than do they take it out? Do they have to? What do they do if it's functioning slow. Also when you mean right away do you mean the doc told you right then... thanks for answering my questions. Angie
Guest guest
I dont think anyone has a gallbladder thats completely not functioning. Even ones filled with stones still manage to perform some storage and excretion duties. But if your gallbladder is not working very well the amount and consistency of the bile secreated will be insufficient for proper digestion. Type in google " bile insufficiency symptoms " and see for yourself if you have it. Brad I am scheduled > > for tomorrow at 10:00. What should i > > expect? Does it hurt? Guest guest
I had a similar experience, except that I don't think there was someone in the room the whole time. I also didn't get the results right away. I had to call the doctor to get the results, and I had no function as well. If they don't see it function, they inject a low level of morphine into you. It's supposed to stimulate the gall bladder. Guest guest
Arelene-I am sorry for your loss. I had a late pregnancy loss in June (at 5 months pg with baby girl) and it was devastating. I can only imagine the pain you feel. I had the HIDA scan and my gallbladder is functioning low at 16%. (I don't have stones or sludge) I had to wait until the next day to get results from my doctor. My GI told me I could get the surgery, but surgeon said he would not suggest I get it out at this time. So I am trying alternative methods-low fat high fiber diet, supplements and homeopthic remedy. I start acupuncture in 2 weeks also. I want to get pregnant very badly as well, so I am trying to keep my gallbladder and get pregnant-but I am terrified that it will get worse when pregnant. But I am doing all I can to keep this organ and give it a jumpstart! You don't have to get your gallbladder out, especially if the only thing that is wrong is that it is " lazy " I would suggest using surgery as a last resort. elizabeth Thank you Arlene, soooo much! Guest guest
Thank you so much...yeah my baby was born sleeping at 37 weeks and 2 days It wasnt fair at all obviously and the drs just played GOD with my baby and my poor daughter isnt here b/c of that. Im very very sorry about your loss as week it is the worst thing any body will ever have to go through is losing their baby. Well i have a cluster of stones and it isnt functioning like at all. I wanted to keep it too but once they said that if i get pregnant the chances are things will get very bad b/c of how my gallbladder is and....i also didnt want it out b/c i thought i would have to wait a long time to get pregant again but thats not the case in either one but hopefully they wont do open....which they said they shouldnt have to but you never know. I also do a low fat diet high in fiber but i also need that for when i get pregnant b/c with the condition i will most likley get it helps a lot if you have a low fat diet and high fiber. Once again im so sorry about your loss and if you ever need someone to talk to you can email me b/c i know exactly how it feels icbluu <icbluu@...> wrote: Arelene-I am sorry for your loss. Guest guest
I am so sorry to hear about your losses. I can't imagine what pain and devastation. I will pray for quick prenancies and healthy babies you all's way. I had the HIDA scan. Took them about 45 minutes to see what they wanted to see. And then they did the 30 minutes of something else... Then it was over. We went out to eat! I was starved. I ate a huge salad with 1/2 a tablespoon of dressing... It was awesome!!! Anyway glad that is over. I prayed that I would be calm and I was.. God is good... thanks for listening.. Angie
Guest guest
From my experience, I learned a long time ago that Digest aids such as Enzymes, HCL/betine will help to dissolve the stones and give great ease in this area. The reason we have the stones is a lack of proper digestion, and because we all have eaten the S-A-D diet we have GB problems. I would suggest giving this a try and see if it is not true. I know it worked for me. Also plenty of good water a day is very important. I have a book called YOUR BODY'S MANY CRIES FOR WATER and the man says one of the main causes of a miscarriages is a lack of drinking of water. I am so sorry about the loss of your baby and can only imagine how devastating it is to go through something like this. My deepest sympathies are with you all. Prayer and time helps and I will certainly pray for you too. Blessings, Thank you Arlene, soooo much! So do you still have > > your GB? What were your choices? Guest guest
There seems to be a LOT of controversy over drinking water. What do you think is " good " water? Thanks.
