Guest guest
Hi Shiela I spoke to Doc at PCT he was very nice. Said it was difficult for doctors to give support on what they were not trained in, I said I was not complaining about my doctor just wanted to know about interactions. I did mention my adrenal test. He said normally where there are too many false positives they don't use them, same as the way they don't with prostate cancer? I didn't understand that bit. Anyway he says if I put down all I am taking, the dosages and the makes, and send them to him he will find out what affects what and let me know. So now I will do that. I will get it sorted eventually. Must also remember to put in things I am 'thinking' about taking like DHEA, coconut oil etc. He said something about the named patient thing for Armour but now I cannot remember what it was, damn, wish I had taped it lol. lotsa luv Dawnx
Guest guest
The "named patient" thing simply means that Doctors ARE allowed to prescribe certain unlicensed medicines (*such as Armour*) on a named patient basis. Basically, when a doctor writes out a prescription for Armour Thyroid, they have to put on the prescription the reason they are prescribing an unlicensed medicine such as "For the treatment of hypothyroidism". They also have to send a letter to the Pharmacist where you will get your prescription filled to say they are prescribing it because you are hypothyroid and cannot tolerate the synthetic levothyroxine. If you want to send me an email with the information he requires. and the address of the PCT again (as your printer is broken) I will print it out for you and send it off again, if that helps. luv - Sheila Hi ShielaI spoke to Doc at PCT he was very nice. Guest guest
Oh yes it would be such a help thankyou Shiela I was wondering what I was going to do about that. The printer worked before it needed refilling and Vista won't let it charge the ink. Bloomin Bill Gates. Yes I told him I knew I could have had it on a named patient basis if the doc had wanted to because he mentioned it was unlicensed, but I cannot remember what he said after that lol. Neer mind eh? I will get that drafted. lotsa luv and God bless Dawnx > > The " named patient " thing simply means that Doctors ARE allowed to prescribe certain unlicensed medicines (*such as Armour*) on a named patient basis.
