Guest guest
As with any disease, we can't just accept each symptom as part of the disease and get a drug to fix it. There is a reason that SOME people experience itching with diabetes; it isn't because of the diabetes alone. If it were, all people with diabetes would be itching and they don't. One of the major reasons for itching in diabetics is poor circulation. Using a high quality oil or your favorite lotion, you can massage the itchy areas before going to bed, to improve circulation and improve skin condition. You can also do this in the bath. I use a cocoa butter bath " truffle " which makes the water SO soothing and makes your skin soft, but not oily. I massage my arms and legs and the effect lasts for days. Some people will need to do this daily, but if it helps, it's worth it. Evie > > My husband is also diabetic. Sorry to say, but itching is a symptom of diabetes. Guest guest
Amber, This could also be a vit B deficiency and particularly the Biotin B. I have just learned that it is a cause of animal itching and they say people also. I have a web site that has it for both people and animals. www.nickint.com I ordered it for my dog who is having a terrible time with itching and I started her on it Tuesday and hopefully she will stop in a few days. I do believe that she is better though. > > My husband is also diabetic. Sorry to say, but itching is a symptom of diabetes. Guest guest
Lots of things can cause itching. My husband is diabetic and his scalp itches incessantly. He's tried everything he can think of to relieve it. I only read recently that it is a symptom of diabetes. With your dog, it could be fleas, or any of a variety of issues. If what you are doing helps your dog, go for it. Amber Amber, This could also be a vit B deficiency and particularly the Biotin B.
