Guest guest
Bandster Success Guided Imagery CD's - repost for the New people We always talk about the emotional work and lifestyle and mental changes needed to lose well and maintain Band loss, but we have never had much (if any) help identifying, understanding, and MAKING these needed changes. In my own pretty successful Band journey, I devised some unique Guided Imagery and Self-Hypnosis tapes that helped tremendously with my understanding the REASONS I was eating inappropriately, as well as many other lifestyle issues, that all helped make me obese. I realized that, until I changed the REASONS I overate, and the other things, any weight I lost with the Band was very UNlikely to STAY lost. I cringe a little when the band is advertised as a " permanent solution " to obesity. The weight you lose will ONLY be permanent as long as the changes you make are also permanent. (within reason! we all goof sometimes!) Don't be fooled thinking band success is a guaranteed thing, or that it's not easy to regain, if we don't address many issues. After we get closer to goal weight, we will need to depend much more on our improved eating and lifestyle habits, than on the Band. We will not be able to keep a very tight fill for long, without increasing chances of later slips and erosions. If we have not overcome much of our emotional eating by then, we can have a very have a hard time maintaining our loss as we fall right back into old bad habits yet again. The Band is about much more than just simply weight loss, (we have all lost before, and probably many times) and there are many issues that have helped cause our obesity. These all need to be dealt with now, if we want a thinner and healthier life and lasting weight loss THIS time. These things include overcoming emotional eating ( " Head and Heart hunger " ), regaining a very positive self-image, better sleep (proven essential for health and weight loss), stress control and relaxation techniques, learning to be more flexible and patient, maintaining motivation for exercise, remaining optimistic , and more. Since Guided Imagery was so effective in my own weight-loss journey, and just as important now in maintaining my loss over the last 3.5 years at goal, I collaborated with a therapist/hypnotherapist colleague to develop a set of Guided Imagery CD's specifically for Bandsters and about Bandster issues, and the needed Bandster lifestyle changes. I needed all the help I could get, and Guided Imagery was very effective for me. Together with the physical help from the Band, Guided Imagery really empowered me to reclaim my life from obesity. For those interested in learning more, please see my webite. The CD's are discussed on the first page, and pages 2-4 are full of Bandster information, pictures, links, articles, and Bandster siccess stories. www.BandsterME.com - Bandster M otivation and E ducation Dr. Kuri endorses the CD's and very kindly wrote the endorsement on the front cover of the CD package. I hope the CD's are an additional tool to empower your Band Success and your newly-emerging, healthier and happier life!
