Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I'm new here & really need some advice for my mother. She has done the gallbladder flush for several years and always felt better afterwards. But the last 3 years she slacked off from doing so because of work & other issues. About 2 wks ago she suddenly doubled over in pain & I rushed her to ER. They said she probably had gotten a stone stuck in the pancreas which caused irritation & swelling. Within 72 hrs her enzymes went down and they sent her home on a liquid diet, telling her she would need (you guessed it) gallbladder surgery. Well, it so happens the surgeon went on vacation so he has had her fasting on a liquid diet for nearly a MONTH and she has lost 1-2 lbs a day (so far she has lost over 28 lbs in 3 wks) So, the first thing we thought of was the gallbladder flush, however now she's afraid to do it since the doctors scared her half to death about getting a stone caught, and that it doesn't work in the first place. So I got online and have been doing TONS of research about it. But I found two different sites which said the gallbladder flush is a hoax, that the " stones " many people claim to expel (like my mom did) is nothing more then " soaps " which form when the lemon/olive oil mix, then are colored with the bile and passed thru to look like stones. Even the mayo clinic suggested this which we both have always held in high regard. But the surgeon told mom she is a very high risk surgery because of being allergic to certain medication used not only an anestesia but also what they use to bring you out of it incase you run into a problem. Mom is a very firm believer that the flush works, and is having 2nd thoughts about going thru with surgery. Soooo, I would like to know if anyone has done the flush when in this situation and what were the results? Has anyone ever gotten a stone caught? And I would really like to know if anyone had any before & after ultrasounds done of their gallbladder? Any other info you care to share I would be happy to have! Thank you for taking the time to read this, sorry it was a bit lenghty. Thanks!!! Chris
