Guest guest
Sandy, First off...thanks for the reminder on the phone numbers. I completely forgot those are in my signature. I will be more mindful of that. How long banded? Since June 26,2008. what band? My surgeon refers to it as a " standard " 10 cc what fill level? 7.0 cc last fill? 2 days before Thanksgiving (sorry...I don't have my calendar handy) are you being serious about exercise? Yes, I went out and bought a exercise bike. I have been doing 3-5 miles a day (I can only manage 1-2 miles at a time... I am working my way up, at the beginning I was only able to do 5 minutes at a time) I was also doing an hour of water aerobics 2-3 times a week. Avoiding all liquid calories? Yep... water only (with Crystal Light) Choosing good band foods and not soft, liquid, or high-cal stuff? I am very mindful of what I put in my mouth. I do not eat anything that has over 5 grams of fat per serving. I also am careful of my carb counts. Meeting the 80-100 oz a day need for bno-cal liquiuds? Yes, I am. Meeting , pretty well, the daily protein, fiber, calcium, omega 3 oil needs? Yes there too. I have only lost one pound in the past 7 weeks. I have been charting on the daily plate, so I know I am not under estimating my food. I just have no idea what to do, I am so frustrated. julie
Guest guest
, thanks - wow, this is excellent !! good for you!! you're clearly very serious about doing well. the only possible thing I can ask is if you are meeting the 1200-1500 cal a day that is a good goal for most women. you're also doing good exercsie - but NOT a huge amount that would require a lot more calories to avid the stall associated with the " starvation mode. " . Just about perfect, as far as i can see! :-) I am not sure if you mean the 10 cc VG band, or the new 10 cc AP band - but 7 cc is a fair fill for both. It could be too little or too much for YOU, though - depending on if you can eat solid meats, with good attention to quality, nice bandster cooking, and chewing extremely well. You need to be able to handle meats, since the PBD is mainly (ideally) solid protein. Let us know if there are any problems. the PBD is ideal for people where you are. It should really jump- start your loss again. I've posted it in the files here, so please take a look. if you have trouble printing or seeing it, please mail me at moonshadow.Sandy@... and i'll sen you a hard copy. for the the other Sandy too! good luck! sandyr > > Sandy, > > First off...thanks for the reminder on the phone numbers. Guest guest
, What a nice post! thanks! It surely is true that the scale number is very deceptive and not a good means of assessing success. you sound as if you're doing well, but please be certain youare meeting the calorie needs for safe and lasting loss (1200-1500 cal a day, so you are not setting your metabolism set point too low, which just about guarantees regain later) and also meeting the protein, fiber, calcium, omega 3 oil needs. women who exercise very heavily usually need more like 1500-2000 cal a day to lose safely when we are not losing scale weight, it is often the case that we are not eating enough - and are in " starvation mode'. Meeting calorie and nutrition needs is very hard to do without 3 decent small meals a day plus 1-2 small healthy snacks. We also need this minimum amount o food to meet nutition needs for safe loss and to prevent the many nutrition-related diseases that will give no clue until later on. " Tiny " meals and oatmeal for lunch worry me a bit..sorry..but i care.. i'd urge you to use the Bariatric Advantage Vita-Band vits if you still want to eat so little - info in the files. We're not looking to lose at any cost, but to lose in a safe and healthy way that will not come back yet again. eating too little is not the way to go. only you know just what you are eating, and it may be fine - but I'd urge you to track calories and nutrition on a place like www.ThDailyPlate.com to see for sure. Glad you're here and contributing! thanks again.. sandy R Sandy R > From: julie Kaye <kayleigh.n.me@...> > Subject: Plateau buster > > Date: Saturday, December 13, 2008, 12:11 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > Sandy, > > > > First off...thanks for the reminder on the phone numbers.
