Guest guest
Hello everyone, Dan you mentioned that you belong to several other band groups. I was wondering if you have come across any for people like myself who have a band and RNY? I belong to groups for band and RNY but haven't come across a combo group.. Not sure the advise would be much different but never know what I can learn from someone.. Thanks for the help.. Guest guest
Re: losing and not exercising The first time around with losing my weight after being banded, I exercised sporadically and still managed to lose 1-2 lbs a week. But it suddenly halted after six months and I lost interest in eating healthfully. So I gained back 30 of the 60 lbs I had lost. Now I have been in a " good " groove for 4 months. Following a healthy diet, exercising 4-5 times per week and it is harder to lose the weight but it is coming off in much different places. I have formed muscle where I never knew I could have some and my pain with my fibromyalgia has gotten more livable. I believe that is totally because I am taking control of my weight and diet and exercise. So please do it right the first time, exercise, start with just walking and include weight training twice a week and you'll not only lose steadily but you'll feel like you are adding quality years to your life. I am 50 and plan on being around for a good long time and I want to be as healthy as I can. I have 12 children, 9 grand children and lots to live for but the band is a tool, use it as best you can. don't try to find ways to cheat and get around it and or exercise. eileen eileenzig@... With 7 children still at home I have made the time for exercise each day. IF I can fit it in, so you can, just start with 15 or 20 minutes at a time. Add 5 minutes per week. You'll be pleasantly surprised. __________________________________________________
