Guest guest
I just got a lab order from a doc for a " urine iodine " test, which is a one time urine sample, which apparently checks to see if you are excreting 90%. He didn't say 90% of what, so I have to assume there is a " standard " iodine level reference range. He also didn't know what I was talking about when I asked for the loading test (which I understood to be a 24 hour urine collection after taking a measured amount of iodoral) and had to go look it up online, so I dont' know if he is ordering the right test. I can't fine any of these tests online. Can someone tell me if I would be wasting my time and $ with this test, and if so, where to get the " iodine loading test " which I also can't find online. What lab does this one? He didn't want to order any adrenal tests until he gets the thyroid TSH, T4 uptake and T3 uptake results back I now take cytomel, a T3 synthetic. But I have all the symptoms of low thyroid. And of no adrenal function. Pretty much non-functioning person here ;-0 I just received my order of iodoral today, and wanted to wait to start until I had some testing done. Maybe I should just jump in and take some? He's brand new, and seems willing to try, but also doesn't have a clue about this stuff. Thanks for any advice. Jill
