Guest guest
Welcome Traylor and thank you for introducing yourself. I was in a medical research study back in about 1977 or 1978 I think, at UCLA. It was a double-blind drug study of the potential use of Physiostigmine to help with CMT symptoms, especially tremors. Previously that drug had been given to people with Huntington's Chorea and then was pulled off the shelves. Anyway, I only lasted about 7-10 days because whatever drug I was given made me incredibily nauseous whenever I sat up - so I was basically lying on the floor or couch alot. The Dr. who was doing this study was later fired from UCLA for falsifying his data! And somewhere recently I read that this Physiostigmine or a form of it is helping patients with Alzheimer's disease. GO figure! We had a number of Texans in who might be of help to you. I would also suggest since you are already at Baylor, that you go over (or call) their Neuro Dept. I think some CMT research is done there. Good luck with Law School! ~ Gretchen
