Guest guest
Hello Again from Tijuana. Hope you are all well! It has been one week since my banding and things have been going well. This is what I am doing: Lots of water and fluids, soups like Clam Chowder, or Chicken Noodle, through a blender with chicken broth to thin it down. I am trying to walk some everyday. I am down 10lbs the first week. However, I am starting to really want to cheat and EAT something thats not MUSH!! Today I had a real challenge, we had to cross the border to meet a group of ladies who had made quilts for an orphanage here in TJ, we met them and things went well. Then they insisted that we all go together to lunch at CARL'S JR of all places. Actually, I have never eaten there but I have seen it, and I have eaten a long time ago at a Hardees which is similar. Anyway, there was absolutely NOTHING I could have, and I couldn't tell them about the surgery. So I LIED and said I had eaten already, and I had half of a milkshake while they ate. It was literally the only thing on the menu that would work for me. Tomorrow is going to be even worse, my husbands boss has insited that we come over for dinner because they are making ino food. As far as they know I have been " sick with stomach problems " lately, which is not uncommon to many forigners living in Mexico, but I don't know how I am going to make it through tomorrow, saturday and Sunday without actually eating something that someone is offering me. Saturday all the churches here go to the beach for cookouts, and Sunday all the men at church are having breakfast for everyone for Easter. Right now, my husband was hungry so he went out alone to get some tacos and I REALLY wish I could have one!! He has been very supportive along the way, and neither of us want to tell people around us about the surgery last week, it just would be hard for them to understand, and its a private issue for us. So I need some advice... How did you get through the first two weeks? Espicially if you did it without others around you knowing you did. I know my stomach couldn't handel it, but I could so go for a big piece of Pepperoni Pizza right now, but instead I am having a little bit of pudding. Help!
