Guest guest Posted June 26, 2006 Report Share Posted June 26, 2006 So I know this is a commonly discussed issue... in one of my other groups there are quite a number of people saying that their band slipped because of ab exercises and apparently different doctors say different things. I have spoken with my doctor and he told me that 2 mo after surgery you can start doing ab exercises again without a problem. Obviously, I am going to take the advice of my doctor, but I am curious as to the " anatomy " of it all. The band is placed next to muscle... what happen as the muscles grow with exercise?? How does that affect my restriction in the long term??? I noticed that after starting the exercises my abs were much much more sore than they were pre-surgery when I exercised and I did significantly fewer reps which makes sense I suppose because I haven't used the muscles in a while Any thoughts???
