Sandy,

I grew up in central Illinois, and learned to drive in ice and snow, so I

really understand cold weather. That is why I have lived in southern CA and

FL most of my life! If I could sent you some sunshine and warm weather, I

would gladly do that. Maybe you could take a brief winter trip to sunny

Florida?

Good luck and stay warm,

I stayed the night at my work last night and when a night nurse called in for

her shift I worked it so because of this snow I have been at work since

1am...and will work today until around 3pm....it sure is pretty though we don't

see this kind of snow in Seattle too often. Just hope I can get home

I live about 15 miles south of Boston. We got about a foot of snow between

Friday and yesterday, with more coming today. I really dont mind it on the

weekend...Hopefully if we get much more today, they will cancel school tomorrow,

that is the tough part, getting the kids to school!!

I have most of my shopping done ahead of time and I stayed home yesterday and

shoveled. My daughter and I went to walmart about an hour ago to pick up a few

things...

I talked to my father on the phone this am, he is in Punta Gorda, FL and he

couldnt wait to rub it in that it was bout 65 degrees this am when he went

golfing....

Stay safe everybody!!

I live in Lacey, and work at a small hospital in Tacoma, I had to drive home to

Lacey at midnight last night Everyone showed up, or at least the supervisor

wasn't asking for any doubles, and the best she would do was a cot in a part of

the hospital thats not even used, a little creepy, and I knew I would never

sleep under those conditions, did I mention our floor wasn't even 1/2 full?

The sup. on call didn't care, she didn't even caution me to drive carefully.

When I got home there were 2 cars slid out of control, blocking both ends of my

street, and our street is pretty much flat, we have at least a foot of snow

between the 2 storms. I'm traumatized, we don't get snow like this in this

area. It took me an hour and a half to make a half hour drive, which is quite

frankly better than I expected. I won't be doing that today.

Oh, Sandy, I do feel so sorry for you....I remember cabin fever from being

snowed in...ugh! CA is so much better. And, yes, Yosemite and Tahoe are

both excellent choices when you want to visit snow or cold weather.

Merry Christmas and I hope you get back to CA soon.

While I have found that to be true in other places I work, most of our

supervisors at this facility are very caring, and have told me in the past that

they would find a bed for me. Thats what makes this womans behavior stand out

so much. I just didn't go to work the next day. We have about 14inches here

when all is said and done. It's kind of neat, we still have some bright red

apples on our tree and the snow sitting on them makes them look like little

Santa Clauses.
