Guest guest
This is a great review of one of the WLS cookbooks I think is very helpful. Here is a link to the amazon discount prices for this cookbook, in the " Suggested Reading " document in the files/links here: http://www.mybariatricsuccess.com/useful_reading.html (Taken with permission from the website of the lady from whom I get my Bariatric Advantage Band vitamins) Highly recommended! Sandy _____________________________________________________________________ Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery: Over 140 Delicious Low-Fat High-Protein Recipes to Enjoy in the Weeks, Months and Years After Surgery, Levine. In April 2003 Patt Levine underwent " Lap-Band " gastric surgery, one of the primary bariatric surgeries being widely practiced today. As a lifelong foodie, she was expecting the worst when her surgeon's nutritionist handed her dietary guidelines to follow post-surgery. With her decades of cooking skills, she immediately set out to devise low-fat dishes that would be just as delicious pureed and chopped as they would be served whole. As an added problem, she wanted to cook for her husband at the same time. This first-ever cookbook for the hundreds of thousands who are lining up for bariatric bypass surgery is proof that it can be done. With collaborator Michele Bontempo-Saray, the author has created 125 recipes that contain no added sugar, are very low in fat, and get their carbohydrates almost exclusively from fruits and vegetables. Each recipe includes specific guidelines for preparation of the dish for every stage of the eating programs for Lap-Band, gastric bypass, and Biliopancreatric Diversion Duodenal Switch (BPD-DS) patients, as well as suggestions for sharing meals with those who have not gone through gastric surgery. Creative recipes cover every meal and food— breakfast and brunch, soups, vegetables, main courses, and sweet indulgences. Customer Review: Best High Protein Cookbook Loved this cookbook! Recipes are easy to follow and can be eaten by the family who did not have surgery. I would purchase again w/no hesitation, way better than The High Protein book. Customer Review: After Weight Loss Surgery Cookbook This is a wonderful cookbook for people who have had weight loss surgery. It is hard to know what to eat, how much to eat, and to come up with appetizing dishes that are perfect for those of us who have had WLS. The receipes in this cookbook are wonderful - and not just for the WLS eaters, but for the whole family. Those are the kind of dishes that we all need. Also, many good ideas for those of us who go to family dinners, pot lucks, etc. No one would ever know that these dishes came from a WLS cookbook. I'm glad I have this book and know that it will be used a lot in the futture.
