Guest guest
Yes, it will never go back to totally normal. It will have lost a normal degree of tightness and can more easily dilate again. You'll have to be careful, and see your doc regularly. Sandy Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Dilated Esphegeous > > Hello Group > I have not posted in a while but always read what going on. I know I butcher the spelling in the subject. > So I have the lap-band since 9/2004 here in NY. Started at 298 went all the way to 155 but wasn't right for me so stayed happily stable at 170-175 @ 5'4. My last fill was about 2 yrs ago. Over the last 3 months I have been able to tolerate more food and started gaining weight went up to now 183. I figure I just needed a fill. Did a barium sallow test and it took forever to pass through the band.....I was STUCK after my Dr review my study he said my Esphegeous (sorry still can't spell it) was dilated and food was backing up allowing me to eat more. It kinda made sense because now and then I would have to vomit because I was so uncomfortable. The only fix is to do a total unfill except maybe .5cc for 2-3 month so my Esphegeous can get back to normal and then I can slowly start getting filled. Needless to say I am mortify. I have use the band as a tool for almost 7 yrs how was I going to manage without? In the interim I would be on phenamine appetite surrpressor. Has anyone gone through this? Does this happen often with the band after years? Can any body offer any insight? > Thanks for reading. > Cami. > > > > >
