Guest guest
I allowed myself to be re-tested (after an abnormally low T3 result a few weeks ago) and my T3 scraped into the 'nornal' range. I was 0.3 over the minimum, I have the figures at home. I am a bit cross because once again I was persuaded to have a blood test on a day when I had taken my throxine. This was becuase I was promised the results, and a phone call (from my consultant gynaecologist who is the only person interested in treating my hypothyroidism) within two days. Needless to say the phone call never came. I recived a letter over a week later saying everything is normal along with a copy of the results. Had I known this would happen I would have arranged the re-test with my GP for a day when I had not taken my thyroxine. I would have also avoided the pain and the massive bruise I got from the hospital blood test that took ten days to fade. I now know I am going to move to Armour in due course. I have had enough of this shilly-shallying. I am waiting for a referral to another Endo now but I have no idea how long I will have to wait. I was given the names of two others, and I wondered if I can ask to be referred to all three and see which one offers me an apointment first? By the way, the book I wanted to borrow from was Adrenal Fatigue: 21st Century Stress Syndrome By - I see the email address has changed so I will give it another go. Guest guest
Hi Jane Did they tell you how long you would have to wait for another test Jane? It is so annoying when they suddenly tell you that you are going to be tested and you are not prepared for it. I am certainly it would have made a difference not taking your thyroxine, even though some people say it would not make a difference, because some people can have an almost instantaneous effect after taking their daily dose. So, something is going on there. I doubt your GP will refer you to all three endocrinologists, try to find out a little about each one before you decide which you would like to be referred to. Google up their names, and if they have written papers, find out what they have written about, and if their name and hospital only is mentioned, I would forget them and find one of your own choice.
