I guess you mean 50 MG not MCG of Iodoral? Docs undertreat with Armour so I would think you should have a higher dose to get your Frees into the upper quadrant of range. Usual Armour dose is 180--300mg.

I am taking 240mg Armour and 100mg Iodoral per day, and I have half a thyroid gland.

Hello everyone. I recently received the results of an ultrasound of my thryoid which shows that I have a "small, diffuse heterogeneous" thyroid gland. The left side of the thyroid is about half the size of the other. The tech told me that my thyroid is particularly undersized and asked me if I have been having issues with hypothyroidism.I have been trying to figure out what that means, and I think it suggests that I might have congenital hypothyroidism or secondary hypothyroidism as opposed to primary hypothyroidism. I am hypo, but always have low TSH, despite very low t-3 and T-4 (while on meds). After taking 50 mcg. of Iodoral for about two months, my TSH is up to .9--the highest it has been in years. I am also now on 2 gr of Armour, having switched recently from a mixture of Syntroid (1 mg) and Cytomel (20 mg). Does anyone have any insight as to what all this means or how I might better assist my lethargic body into a better state? I am concerned that even if I take iodine, I might not be able to convert it properly due to the low TSH.Thanks.Kim
