Guest guest
Has anyone used the drug Gabitril? If so can you share your experience. I live in Arizona and have had CMT for 55 years. I am pretty fortunate, to have only to wear leg braces until now. The CMT has moved from my fingertips to mid arm in just two years and is taking a toll on me. But anyone living here I have just been referred to a new Doctor in Phoenix. He specializes in only " exotic " diseases, and CMT is on the top of his list. I will see him the end of August, and hoping to have new information to share with you all.......MY MOTTO is " We cmt'rs have more will than won't " Joyce
Guest guest
Where in Arizona do you live. When my husband retires we have been considering moving to Arizona or New Mexico. We lived in Yuma for 1 year while my husband helped build a Co-Gen plant. The heat was very good for my RSD I wasn't diagnosed with CMT yet. The tremors and coldness were almost gone not as many episodes. I did my own therapy in the pool and had a friend that help stretch me what a work out you can get from a pool. Really was a very nice year even had all the craft shows for me to attend or participate in. Stout
Guest guest
, I was given Gabitril to control my panic attacks. I never took it because I felt it was just to much medicine for what I needed. Sorry I have not been much help.
Guest guest
Hi , Gabitril is an anti-epileptic medication like Neurontin. It is used for pain, drepression, weight and anxiety too. It works on the brain chemical GABA, much like how Neurontin works. You can look it up in the PDR and other links below. I have not taken this, so my personal experience is zero here. http://www.pdrhealth.com/drug_info/rxdrugprofiles/alphaindexa.shtml http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/gabitril.htm http://www.fda.gov/CDER/DRUG/advisory/gabitril.htm http://www.gabitril.com/physicians/patienteducation/faq.asp ~ Gretchen
