Just got back from a weekend away to find a "letter" if you can call it that from consultant - and I quote:-"Just a short note to let you know that your recent further blood tests have been normal with a normal blood count, ESR (15) and autoimmune screen. I will write again once we have your CT scan result." etc etc." Not only was there no indication of what the blood tests were for, yet again the actual results and reference ranges were not provided!! I'd like to know how he's going to send the CT scan result when I haven't even had the appointment through for it yet!! Incompetence or what. So I now have to write back YET AGAIN to request all the information. Can someone please explain if the immune result can (as

he says) resolve back to normal after only treatment with thyroxine. The initial result from test on 13/4/07 - and I quote was :-"Thyroid autoantibody level - 279.00 iu/mL (0.00 - 50.00) - Consistent with autoimmune thyroid disease. Associated with increased risk of other organ specific autoimmune diseases (e.g. pernicious anemia, s disease)." Plasma TSH level 5.440 (0.400 - 4.000). There were other results but I don't have any current ones to compare them with.Spent most of last night trying to get the feeling back into my hands which were numb no matter which way I slept. Perhaps I'm going mad and am imagining or dreaming it happens. This was one of the main symptoms which took me to my GP over a year ago along with major unexplained weight gain, major hair loss, mental confusion, tiredness and forgetfulness so bad it was seriously imposing on my working life. A year on and ALL the symptoms are still there along with some

which have got worse.Strangely as I was putting my makeup on this morning I said to my husband I wonder if the results are back and what they show as the next step according to the consultant is to look for a neurological cause or maybe I'm in his words suffering from 'depression'. My husband thinks I'm the most cheerful depressed person he's ever met!!! I said maybe I should have gone to my appointment without any makeup on then at least he would have seen I have no flipping eyebrows. My husband replied - "well he ignored all the other symptoms so it probably wouldn't have made any difference and he'd probably have said they're down to depression too - or maybe he would have accused you of having pulled them out!!"Back to the drawing board, GP or the laptop to write off for the tests and the results. AGAIN!! - still haven't got all the ones for tests done between April 07 to date as stupid

woman in the GP surgery only printed off the first lot done this time last year. Perhaps when all my hair has fallen out I'll go back and see him wearing an orange clown wig then at least when he diagnoses me as being mad I can whip it off and say no you told me I'm depressed but clearly I'm not I'm just bald!!
