Guest guest
Hi Sheila, I saw Dr P at Gorleston in Norfolk on 16th March. I talked about my granddaughter. He suggested that it was her thyroid that was giving her all her problems. I have received a copy of the blood tests she had the hospital. Here are the following; Liver Function Test Us & Es Ferritin TSH Globulin *37 Bicarb*17 *20 *3.72 Alk. Phosph * 63 I would very grateful if you could show him the results. He said that it would be advisable to start her on Armour. Now I have got the blood results, will you ask him after a week on 1/2 tablet then starting on one tablet, how long before I up the dose. I am going to put her on some Iron as well. I know Dr P will probably in Yorkshire for about a week and I will not have a chance to phone him. Thanks Sheila for all you do on theThyroid Advocacy. Best wishes, Drew for Good helps you make a difference
Guest guest
Hi TSH is unacceptably high and although your doctor may not agree confirms that she is hypothyroid. The Ferritin is low and iron supplementation should be considered. I especially favour Spatone which you can buy over the counter at the chemists. Indeed, allow her to run on one tablet for a three weeks, monitoring her symptoms, temperature and pulse and then consider increasing it by another half grain. It would not be right to consider any further increase for at least another 3 weeks, and perhaps you would email me about how she is getting on.
