Angie: In keeping with my usual tasteless comments, and with you being of the female persuasion, could we refer to what you are experiencing as global warming? From California where the difference between a zapper and a zipper is that a zapper can keep you out of trouble and a zipper can get you into it. Guest guest
Hi, Lara - Lots of weird little things are possible with the band and port, and they can't always be explained. As long as you're well-healed after surgery (at least several weeks before soaking in a bath), there are no areas of possible infection, and it resolves within a day or two, I doubt there is a problem. Why did it occur? Hard to tell, but heat can cause swelling or expansion of tissues, so if you had a recent fill and the usual needle stick, or maybe a small bruise from a bump or good exercise, the hot bath migh have increased the irritated area , which caused it to feel sore. that's my guess, withou being able to see or feel it. Thankfully, most big band problems are not subtle. I don't think there is anything to worry about here, just from a slight sore-ness. Keep an eye on it, though. anyone else with any other ideas? Guest guest
Thanks for the input. It's only a little painful for a short time. Swelling makes sense. It primarily is a little painful when I get out of the tub and have to bend at the waist. It's almost like I can feel the band is there. It's hard to explain. It almost feels like when you remove a hot piece of tupperware from a dishwasher, but it's in my abdomen. I always forget to ask my doctor. > > > > Does anybody know if it's normal to feel soreness around the port > area > > after a hot bath? > > >
