Guest guest
I have taken Elavil (amitriptyline) for about 15 years at various doses. It has proven itself in many studies for years to control nerve pain. For one year I took a 'break' and tried Neurontin because I was having electrical type surge/pain in my arms, at rest. I had good results with Neurontin, but subsequently went off of it, due to its short half life AND expense and now back to Elavil. And ever since those arm pains have not returned. Originally a neurologist gave me the Elavil, later it was my Internist who suggested and gave me the Neurontin. And now I just stick with my Internist. He really is very caring and understanding about me in general and CMT. ~ Gretchen
