Happy bandiversary! Keep it up! Sorry for your loss. U seem to keep to positive

thoughts on the whole regardless of the weight and life setbacks and obstacles.

So I'm sure u'll get through it all very well and get the weight back to where u

want it.

Still alive and well in Utah

Greetings all,

I've been relatively quiet lately, since I've been very busy in

retirement. As the signature shows, I was banded eight years ago

tomorrow. All is well, thought my weight is back up a ways at the

moment. The band always works, but never stops grazing, liquid

calories or bad food choices.

The last year has been a bit of a reversal, with several nagging but

non life-threatening illnesses, a lot of travel (including cruises,

always a particular challenge), and a couple of deaths in the family,

with all the attendant emotion and tons of food. (I'm the oldest of

six, our father dying of cancer at 40, a sister at 52, a brother at

56, and a brother at 58).

Anyway, the current 240 will be back under 220 this year, and would

still like to break the 200 mark one of these days. But if I don't, I

don't. It still beats the heck out of 355. I walk, jog, hike, play

tennis and pickleball, and lift weights. I'm extremely happy overall,

though still a bit depressed over the loss of the latest, my youngest

brother, a month ago this Saturday. This too will pass.

You all keep on keeping on, and never forget the band is just a tool,

and any " excuses " are just that: excuses. All of your eating and your

life is under YOUR control.

(this sig is old, we've lived in St. Utah for almost 18 months

now). Guess I will change it one of these days.
