Guest guest
, I am a registered nurse also with CMT and currently work with federally injured employees. In 1999 I had both hands operated on and have more than a nodding acquaintance with bracing. Talk to your pediatrician or neurologist about a referral to a board certified orthopedic hand specialist and get your son in to see him/her for further evaluation. It is not uncommon for children to normally sleep with their hands/arms drawn up and to curl them right back up in their sleep when you try to straighten them out. Something to consider: Is he complaining of his hands hurting, tingly feeling, etc. when he wakes up? If not, it may not be posing a problem right now, just something you are more aware of since there is a diagnosis of CMT. Good Luck,
