Guest guest
Dear and especially Heidi, Last week you wrote a post about challenges, and I meant to add to that topic, then things got hectic. So better time is now. While my CMT has presented certain 'challenges' (formerly I referred to them as 'limitations') it has been alot of trial and error since the initial diagnosis and growing up to see what works and what doesn't. My therapist sugested I work at possibly changing the negative word 'limitations' to a more positive one, one that can help me in my drive, one that I chose as 'challenges'. When I did this (and it took awhile!) it seemed that I had a better outlook on life. Even during my sister's illness, knowing I would become mother to my niece, I began to work on acceptance of THAT challenge and fortunately my sister and I were close, also the child, so we ALL had this 'added' challenge ahead - in different ways. I also saw a 'green light' into the challenge of moving my studio and showroom into my house - so not only can I work in greater comfort, but also to be their for my neice and provide a stable environment in which we could both grieve, and go forward with our lives together. Moving the showroom was a big challenge, so is keeping it clean!!!! But with everything under one roof, I also had the challenge of compacting things and did 'spring' cleaning for the next 40 years! For me, it seems I am basically sort of lazy, and it it not until I am faced head on with a large 'challenge' that I rise to the occassion and realize it is time to grow and change somemore. I have been less stressed, and I can see that in the way I relate to others, my neice/daughter, 'my MOM' duties, parent/guardian/school involvement, etc. On a fun note, my neice and I got a little kitten whom she absolutely loves - we just got it 5 days ago and she keeps changing its name, but I THINK " Bandit " is staying, because of the face markings. Anyway, Heidi and list, I'm with you in 'challenges'! Emiley
