Good question. I take Levoxyl in the morning,

usually 45 minutes to an hour before eating, & am

wondering if I'm doing the right thing, or if I should take

it some other time during the

day.

Thanks!
Hi all! I usually take my Armour first thing in

the morning. It's recommended that you take it on an

empty stomach, then wait at least an hour before you

eat - and 2 hours before you take any other meds -

just to give your system enough time to properly

absorb your thyroid meds. I do TRY to adhere to that,

but it's hard for me to wait to eat. I have always

had a problem with queaziness, if I go too long on an

empty stomach.

Also, be careful about other meds

& foods! Some just aren't compatible with HypoT

meds. Iron supplements and many antacids can interfere

with your thyroid meds' absorbtion. I try to avoid a

lot of soy products, as well. Several friends with

Hashimoto's have complained about soy, and how it can block

thyroid absorbtion, as well... especially powdered soy

drinks.

I rarely ever forget to take my morning meds, but

I've been having a problem remembering to take my

herbal supplements later in the day! I just get so

preoccupied doing " stuff " that I space doses off. Maybe I

should get a watch with an alarm on it, to remind

me!

Take care & TTYS!
