CMT and Biking

With my CMT I am to the point that I really don't take walks much

anymore because my legs are weak and I do fall easily.I live in

the Pocono Mts. of Pennsylvania and I love it here. I went out 3

weeks ago and bought myself a 21 speed bike at Walmart. It is

also designed for off road. I started on a river road which is flat

for about 15 miles each way. Also there are some off trail bike

paths as well. I am trying to go at leat 3 times a week and it is

paying off.

With my CMT sometimes my legs feel so weak that I couldn't walk

far at all, but the bike lets me go places I forgot about in the

country side since I was a kid. After the ride I feel a bit

stronger in my legs as well. The test came after 2 weeks on flat

roads, when I decided to pull a rather large hill and climbed it

like the wind. Also I found another benefit. When I ride I don't

think about my medical problems or my personal problems(GOING

THRU DIVORCE)

I just take in the nature that is all around, including the 2 bears

I had to wait for to cross the road in front of me. but it was

GREAT to be there.I have met other people who bike so now I can go

alone or with someone. I do take creatine before I go which

seems to give me some extra energy. I hope to ride as much as

possible and I hope that someone reading this message will

think about biking if they are able to, so you to can get thru

another day with a smile on your face.

We are all so different. I can't pedal. I am too weak, but with my husbands arm

to hold onto I can walk .
