Guest guest
HI All, Just my own experience with drilling at the dentist. I am able to have almost all drilling done without any sedation. I always felt it was because my sensation was less than normal. Could this be so? It appears that I have Type 2 CMT. Only once when I was getting a tooth pulled and had Novocaine, did I become a bit faint. We went ahead with the extraction, however. Going to the dentist is a real bummer, right? It does seem lately that my entire mouth is more sensitive than in the past when I had lots of drilling done. Unfortunately, I think it is going to be the " thing of the future? for me the next time I go to the dentist, as I am aware of a few very senitive teeth! That will be the real test for me. Health to all, P.
Guest guest
My husband has similar problems at dentist. He ends up getting 2 or 3 numbing shots, because they don't take effect. Then the rest of the day he is loopy (he actually acts like he is " high " ). The last time this happened, I sent him back to the dentist so he could see how bad it was, and now the dentist buys/uses a different numbing agent just for him. We just assumed it was due to the CMT and how the lidocaine or novacaine acts on the nerves. in IN
