Guest guest
Hi P, After numbing my mouth with gel, then I get a stiff shot of lidocaine, and I still can feel the drill. The Dentist waits a good 20 minutes for my mouth to numb. If I feel the drill after that, he has given me another 1/2 shot. Same dentist I have gone to since my 20s. I really hate the SOUND of the drill and that may have something to do with it. If I need drill work done in the future, think I will take my earplugs. ~Gretchen plobette2000 wrote: > Having problems at the dentist at the moment with numbing of the mouth, > even after double doses I am still sensitive to the drill. Guest guest
hi, I can't really say that this is a CMT related thing. i guess it depends on the person. for me i get one shot and i am numb for the rest of the day almost. my daughter is the same way and we dont have CMT that i am aware of however my daughter shows some signs of what could be CMT. numb hands and feet, but could also be poor circulation or the way she sits. i'm not sure if i want to have her tested though. anyway my son 5 yrs. old has CMT and he also has the same sensitivity to the shots. as with any meds. he takes smaller doses and gets the same effect as everyone else. but yet with antibiotic he has to be on the strongest ones, higher doses, and for a longer period of time. i'm not a doctor i dont understand it,lol, but i hope it helps you some. renee
Guest guest
Gretchen, I have found (the hard way) that when I'm going to have work done that necessitates numbing I need an anti-anxiety pill! The dentist prescribes them - I take one the night before the appointment and one the next morning and I'm fine. I don't know if this will help - but it sounds as if it might.
