Guest guest
Hello the House, Hi Sharon, Each time I purchase a pair of shoes I have to have the pedorthist take a little off the back of heel so my weight will not push forward where I stand with my knee buckled. They start the shaving of the heel about the half way point or tiny less and slant it back toward the rear of the heal. I do that because my foot and ankle are fused and it allows me to straighten out my leg. E >I have the Ariat boot and I wear my AFO's in them. Because of the heel it does throw my weight forward just a little and I am not quite as comfortable walking in them as in my sneakers< Charcot Marie Tooth Universal Services - that's - for you! Guest guest
Hello, >Since nobody else answered Fran's question, I'll do it< ---------------------------------------------------- Hello Paolo and thank you so much for the boot information. I have the Ariat boot and I wear my AFO's in them. Because of the heel it does throw my weight forward just a little and I am not quite as comfortable walking in them as in my sneakers. Is your device on the market to be purchased? Where can I find it? Wishing you a fine weekend too. Sharon

THIS PROBABLY MEANS THAT YOU HAVE WEAK PLANTARFLEXORS OR THAT YOUR AFOS ARE MOLDED AT 90° WHEREAS THEY SHOULD BE 100° (IN CONSIDERATION OF THE HEEL). IN THE FORMER CASE FOOT ORTHOSES THAT HAMPER YOUR ANKLE TO ROTATE IN DORSIFLEXION ARE BENEFICIAL. IN THE LATTER YOU SHOULD WALK BETTER WITH BOOTS HAVING A SMALLER HEEL. Is your device > on the market to be purchased? Where can I find it? MY DEVICE IS NOT SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN BUY AND PUT IN THE BOOTS. IT'S A MODIFICATION THAT MUST BE DONE BY A PEDORTHIST ON EACH PAIR OF BOOTS. I DO NOT KNOW IF THE PEDORTHISTS IN MISSOURI TRAINED OTHER PEDORTHISTS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY AS THEY WERE GOING TO DO 2 YEARS AGO. THEY LAB IS IN A TOWN BETWEEN ST LOUIS AND KANSAS CITY, AND THEY SEE PATIENTS ALSO IN THESE CITIES. IF YOU WANT, I CAN GIVE YOU THEIR EMAIL ADDRESS. REGARDS.
