Welcome onboard . Your post caught my attention. I'm 43 and just

joined this board about a month ago. I was dianosed in the early 90s

with CMT, although I knew I had it before then because of family

members who have had it. You say you are applying for disability. I

am starting to notice weakness in my legs a little more then normal.

In my family most of us who have CMT could not work past their late

40s as well.

Needless to say I'm stubborn and wish to work as long as I can,I do

alot of walking in my job. Recently I have noticed my legs and ankles

weakening to the point I need to sit down and rest more often. I would

be interested if this is want you are going through.

I guess I'm trying to compare my symptons with others to see where I'm at with

this thing. I think I have been lucky so far. I have a cousin who

just recently had to go to a wheel chair because he couldn't walk any

longer in his factory job. Both he and I seem to have it a little

worse then the rest of the family. Any thoughts or comments would be

appreciated!

Thanks

Rick - are your hands or arms affected in any way?
