Guest guest
, I worked for 22 years in finance, the last 9 of which I was a branch manager. The stress and long hours finally took a toll on me to the point that my muscle fatigue was so great by mid-day, I could no longer physically function. My legs didn't work and neither did my hands. I could barely even hold a pen. I applied for and got long term disability from my company, who in turn required me to apply for Social Security benefits. I, too, was prepared for a long drawn out affair, but to my surprise I was awarded benefits within 3 weeks of my initial application and interview. My neurologist did a very thorough job of documenting my limitations and also made it clear that my neuropathy was progressive and that I would not get any better.
