Guest guest
Just to clarify what was recently posted, CMT is NOT a 'form' or 'type' of Muscular Dystropy! The Muscular Dystropy Association sees patients with 40 or so neuromuscular diseases and CMT is one of them. So, yes the MDA does see CMT patients, but CMT is not any type of dystrophy! " Dystrophy " (which is in MD) and " Atropy " (which is in CMT) are different. Somewhere in our archives we have the differentiation spelled out clearly. Basically in dystropy, the muscles are not healthy to start out with; but in CMT the muscles start healthy, then atrophy comes as the disease progresses. ~Gretchen
