How did the rest of your family get the Diagnosis of MS? Is their MS mild?

I worry that the biopsy will make my kids worse. But I know they have CMT.
Guest guest
yes i can understand keeping them from painfull tests when possible but there is MS in my family and they would like to rule that out. and any other possible disorders. this is what makes the decision so hard for me. if it turned out later down the road not to be CMT but another treatable disorder i would then blame myself but then if i have the test and it turns out nothing can be done and that we know no more then than we do now it would all have been for nothing and i would regret it. i just dont know. renee - what about asking the Drs. to do an MRI on your son - it is not painful, just noisy, and MS signs appear on the brain, and your son wouldn't need the biopsy perhaps. Someone on this list once mentioned that a child can be moderately sedated for an MRI (just to quell the noise) - my last MRI, I took earplugs. Good luck with your decision. ~ Gretchen
