My Introduction

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I would lilke to introduce myself.

I am Wolkerstorfer, I live in Salzburg (yes, the town, where

Mozart was born), in Austria (no, no kangaroos at all, that's

Australia).

I am a doctor in psychology, clinical psychodiagnosis, have my ow

office in the middle of the town.

I often have to deal with psychic disorders of any kind from

educational problems to Alzheimer's disease, I also do diagnosis of

skills and vocational guidance.

My spouse does the same, only specialized with handicapped childern.

I have a 15 years old daughter and and my spouse has a 17 year old son.

Music (Rock, Jazz, Blues), arts, humor, travelling and good food,

omputers and philsophy are my favourite interests.

I am very busy because I have found a new flat, where my office and

habitation are door to door, so problems with walking will be

lessened.

I have been diagnosed with CMT age 23, before that several wrong

diagnosis have been made, like Morbus Friedreich, or " that's nothing " .

Onset was early childhood, worsening especially in puberty and after

age 35. One of my brothers has CMT too, the other and my sister, all

younger, don't. No other assertained CMT attacks in my family.

My degree of sickness has become quite severe in the last ten years,

I can't walk more than 50 meters, fall often, I have been needing a

cane since nearly 2 years now and will get an electro scooter for

longer activities next week in Padova, Italy. (<http://www.adelgroup.com>,

model " Comfort " ). I'm looking forward to that.

Here in Austria there are no activities for CMT patients at all as

for public awareness or support, not too much as for handicapped

people either. On the paper exist a lot of advantages for disabled

persons, but in reality only a few things really work. Many

handicapped are not too pleased about that, but hardly anyone doing

something to change it.

I will do my share to change that: I hope to find other people to

help set up a CMT hompage for German speaking.
