Guest guest
Hi Everyone I have suffered with terrible PMS symptoms this month, the worst thing being incredibly tender breasts for two weeks prior to my period, this has been happening for a long time and I think it is time I did something about it. I have been reading up about oestrogen dominance and am wondering if this is what I have, all my fat and I am quite slim elsewhere is around my stomach. I am going to take the plunge and order some natural progesterone cream. I remember not long ago a discussion on this forum about the best place to purchase it from. Would anyone be able to give me the link as I cant find anything definitive in the files (maybe just hypo brain though). Thanks Love Lizzie
Guest guest
Hi Lizzie, I get mine form iherb.com - but bear in mind that orders over £18 including shipping will attract VAT, but this is still a cheap source. Some people say you must only go for the ones which make the progesterone from soya, others from yam, but I buy both & use one in the morning, the other at night. I like both Now & Source Naturals, but have also used many others including Emerita (which I have paid £39.50 for a 2oz on private prescription before getting more wise to the availibity of it from abroad). Dr P suggests the one made by Well... - cannot remember the name, but he is a consultant for them & gives free consultations paid for by them, so he would obviously have to recommend their product. Personally I go for a much cheaper one. Val I am going to take the plunge andorder some natural progesterone cream. Guest guest
Fiona, it certainly would help if you could get any possible adrenal issues out of the way once and for all, so I would certainly beg, borrow or steal to get the 24 hour salivary adrenal profile done through Genova Diagnostics. See details in our FILES section under 'DISCOUNTS'. It looks like we need to do a process of elimination here to find the culprit. Luv - Sheila I just really wanted to post about my experience with NP. Strange really! I started with NP back in December applying days 14-26, and had some interesting results....bloating, painful periods, dry skins and constipation much improved....plus my hair thickened up a bit, hair fall decreased...also eyebrow hair started to return. Also mood swind and concentration increased..as did my typing skills.. However the downside is extremely painful cystic acne and rosacea, with a vengeance, like never before. I did some research and discovered that other women had experience this, however it is not well documented. I had to stop taking it. I just wonder if my thyroid actually benefited from all of this, and if whether symptoms of oestrogen dominance were affected, I have no idea. At present I am trying simple things like liquorice tea, no alchohol to see if this will help. However now that I have stopped cream, hair fall is awful and old symptoms have returned. Is it possible that my adrenal's need help? Might the liquorice tea help? I am weird individual, as what seems to work for so many does not work for me! Anyone with any help here, most welcome! I've been using Serenity cream (progesterone) for about 3 months (24 days on and 6 off) and notice spots on my neck at the sides (are there any glands in that posiition?) (this was mild before) it seems a lot worse now -- wondering if the Serenity cream is the culptrit?? I've not really noticed any improvements in anything else, but I'm such a wreck it's hardly surprising!! best Isabel >
Guest guest
HI Isabel, Many thanks for replying:- I am sorry to read that you are not feeling that great. I do sympathise. I too would describe myself as being a wreck! So I know just how you feel. I do wonder about NP. It is just possible it is the cream that is causing the problem. I have read, that initially, if you are oestrogen dominant, it can take a while for hormones to sort themselves out. Things apparently get worse before they get better.. So I have read. I wish I knew. One thing I did read, was never apply cream to fatty tissue areas, as cream will not be absorbed instantly, but can take time and cause problems with adrenals. Not very well explained, I know, but I'm sure you know what I mean. Here is a link to Powersurge website which discusses acne whilst using the cream: http://www.power-surge.com/php/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t1732.html I found this, and thought it was quite interesting. I don't think that NP is the magic bullet. It may not be the answer. My feelings are that adrenals have to be working well? Just to say, that you may not need progesterone. See how you feel. I do hope things improve for you. Can I suggest you try some liquorice tea, apparently this helps with progesterone levels in latter part of cycle. Plus very soothing for stomach. Tastes good too. (also for adrenals) I hope this helps. Thanks for replying All the best Fiona > >Hi Fiona, I find you comments re acne interesting. I don't think that NP is the magic bullet. Above is interesting, as I haven't had my hormones levels checked I wonder if I am getting the progresterone requirement right. Interesting about where to apply it, I usually do tummy or thighs - the fatty bits! So where is the best place to apply do you think? I am going to leave it out for a month and see how I go. thanks all Isabel

Guest guest
Hi All, I got this from the Serenity website. Serenity should be applied to the fatty tissue areas of the body where it is stored for use as needed: the chest, buttocks, thighs, hips, upper arms and lower abdomen. It is important to massage the cream into a different area each time -chest in morning, buttocks evening, thighs next morning, hips evening, arms morning etc. * Please Note:- At the onset of using Natural Progesterone Cream some women may at first experience an increase in " oestrogen dominance " symptoms. This is due to the Natural Progesterone " waking up " oestrogen receptor sites. If experienced, reduce the amount of Serenity Cream, as this condition is only temporary, will soon disappear and then you may then resume normal application.
