Guest guest
My neurologist of 4 years has referred me to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He wants to make sure we're leaving no " stone unturned " when it comes to my illness. My appointment begins on Aug. 12th, and they told me to plan on being there 3 - 7 days. I picked up my medical records a couple of days ago to take them with me, and learned a few things. Apparently my neurologist wants the people at Mayo to do a nerve/muscle biopsy. I've done some research on this and found out there could be permanent lasting effects from these procedures. Is it painful? Is it disfiguring? What could the doctors learn from the results if anything? I'm 44 years old with 3 children. I'm hoping some of you out there can share your experience with me on this. I'm scared to death. Thanks!
