Guest guest
, I had both Nerve and Muscle Biopsy in 1966 at UCLA. Piece of cake. I think I was in the hospital 2 or 3 days. It was done under local anesthetic, so I was awake the whole time. But because of the anesthetic, felt nothing. To this day, I just have faint scars in 2 places on my left leg where it was done. Hardly disfiguring. Had no permanent or even temporary negative-lasting effects. After, my leg muscles just felt kind of tight and stiff. Just wore a bandage and Ace wrap for support. Back then had stitches, so they came out a few weeks later. The biopsy I had was used as a diagnostic tool. Medicine can rule out other disorders, and also note your muscle growth, or any problems. So relax. By now the biopsies must really be a cakewalk. Mayo is a good place and sounds like you have good, thorough doctors who want to be certain of a correct diagnosis. ~ Gretchen
