I am depressed...no wonder...but feel really low today. Thank you all for your messages...I don't know where I would be without this forum...probably not here at all. I saw a doc this morning...a woman...as my doc is still on holiday. I had to go because once again I am feeling extremely fatigued, am sleeping more than awake, my face and eyelids are puffy, I am constipated, have tingling in fingers and toes and yesterday my voice disappeared again..it is very hoarse...and I have put 2lb on since last week - I hadn't lost any but my weight had stayed constant while taking Levo. I asked the doc if I could even take a reduced dose of Levo as the symptoms are returning but despite my suggestions that it may have been a false reading because I had taken Levo an hour or so before blood was drawn there was no persuading her to even allow a reduced dose. As far as she is concerned I am not hypo because of my test results but when I asked what she did think it was she said she couldn't be expected to say when so many before have failed to diagnose. Her input? I have to see a psychiatrist, not take any Levo and see my own doctor on his return from holiday...but he will just toe the party line too and only refer to the labs. When I said I could see myself back in hospital again unable to even get out of bed, she said that was maybe what I needed! Very encouraging. So now I am back to square one. I understand the concern with the jump in my Free T4 and drop in TSH, but I did not have any hyper symptoms. I felt better that I had in years....though I did have joint pain which was more pronounced than it had ever been before. So, I am not hypoT and don't have rheumatoid arthritis (thank god) according to test results. But nobody knows what is wrong with me. I have posted my results below. I did ask for Free T3 to be done but can't see any result for that...though the doc said everything was tested... Can anyone suggest anything? I am taking NAE, Vit C, selenium, magnesium and VitB complex daily and some paracetamol for pain. blood collected - 23/07/08 9.54 TSH <0.01 mu/l (0.15-4.0) free T4 23.7 pmol/l (12.0-22.0) Total T3 3.0 nmol/l ( 1.3-3.1) it says at the bottom 'consistent with hyperthyroidism' Rheumatioid factor negative Antinuclear Antibody reactive screen for ANA's Sent to Ref.
