Guest guest
I want to preface this with that I have read on 's website about her kids' thyroid/iodine regimens. I have a concern about my own kids: After my Thyca experience and getting RAI scans and an ablation, I'm concerned about the exposure my 2 (then) toddlers may have gotten from it (even after following the precautions that were told to me - interesting, the same nuclear med tech who told me I could hang around my baby boys with a scan dose, but just don't snuggle with them, but I could change diapers.... a year later I got that same scan dose and she told me I had to stay out of the house away from them for a couple days.....great! So it was safe a year ago to hold them for a little, etc., but not this time?!). When I had the ablation (99 mci) I was told to stay completely away for 4 days, so I did. I don't know if that was long enough. Especially since I was going back to toddlers, where as the mom you're pretty much picking them up all the time. I just really suspect that they were both exposed to the RAI and I feel that thyroid issues are inevitable (whether hypo, autoimmune, or cancer). I'd like to get them on an iodine regimen ASAP. How would Lugol's be? My kids can't swallow pills yet. I mean, who doesn't need iodine anyway? Thanks,
