Guest guest
Zoe I do not understand what he is saying b/c hypers were treated with iodine way back when. I don't think they differentiated then about the autoimmune, and also I thought autoimmune illness had a low iodine component. And further.... I am pretty sure I have had autoimmune thyroiditis with hyper component. and doing great on the iodine. Gracia Thank you very much, Gracia, for posting this email from Flechas on iodine for (1) goiter, (2) hypothyroidism, and (3) autoimmune thyroiditis with a hyperactive thyroid component. It is good to know that in his experience, iodine is good for goiter and low thyroid. However, we need to heed his caution to be careful in using iodine with autoimmune thyroiditis with a hyperactive thyroid component. This is the first time I have heard this caution from any of the orthoiodo people. Thanks for forwarding it to us. Zoe ==================== Dear , Iodine has been used for over 150 years to treat goiter to make it smaller. One has to be guarded in the use of iodine in autoimmune thyroiditis with a hyperactive thyroid component, In patients who have hypothyroidism, low thyroid, they can take iodine with no problem. You can check for total body iodine stores with the test provided by VRP called the Iodine loading test.
