Guest guest
My son is 5 years old. We just took a trip to South Carolina Wed. The doctor there would like for my son to have a nerve biopsy done to narrow down what type CMT he might have. They want to do this in order to lower the cost on DNA testing which they will pay for since we don't have the money to do so ourselves, what should I do? Should I have the biopsy done? I am worried because of the risks but also because of his age. If this were any of you what would you do in this situation? Please, any ideas would be appreciated. I don't even know where to begin to think about this. I want to help him in any way i can, but I don't want him to go through alot more than he has to deal with already. He's going through so much as you all know very well from experience. I can only try to understand it. i dont' pitty him, that's not what he needs, he needs understanding and support, but he needs to understand what he is going through and I was thinking to know the type would be a relief for us both. Me now and him later in life when he knows what it all means. Sorry this is so long, but I need help. Thanks to all that will respond. renee
